Technological Chaos

Trying to make this work... On the top left is the back of my TV, to its right is the back of my pc, below on the left and right are the two ends of the cable. I don't know if the adapter is somehow preventing the signal from working with the tv, but I use it with the monitor all the time and it works. I checked the TV resolution list and NVIDIA settings and they're compatible. I've tried all the input settings on the TV and I can't get a signal. I have been told that there are some specific settings I need to use on the TV and PC, but no one seems to know what they are. TV is a Panasonic Viera.
